A code of good practice may improve relations between the key players in the insurance market

The formal code of good practice agreement signed today in the middle of the AMRAE conference has been several years in the making.

Previous agreements between AMRAE and brokers’ association CSCA formed the backbones of today’s tripartite signing, which also included the insurers’ organisation, Fédération Française des Sociétés d’Assurances (FFSA).

A statement of good intent rather than a code of rules, the charter stresses transparency, especially where broker remuneration is concerned.

Other areas on which the charter states its principles include claims management, issuing of policies, innovation, call for offers and declarations of the value of insured assets.
