Company terminates a chief actuary and VP of risk management
Assurant has fired two executives who had been placed on leave after they received SEC Wells Notices, reported Reuters.
The company terminated senior vice president and chief actuary, Michael Steinman, and former vice president-risk management Dan Folse, said the news agency.
The dismissals follow an investigation by the US securities regulator.
The Wells notices indicate that the SEC is considering recommending that the SEC bring a civil enforcement action against these individuals for violating various provisions of the federal securities laws.
