Laurent Barbagli to take helm next month
AXA MATRIX Risk Consultants has appointed Laurent Barbagli as its new chief executive officer.
Barbagli, who is risk manager at building materials producer Lafarge Group, will join AXA at the start of next month, just ahead of the annual conference of the French risk management association AMRAE.
Prior to joining Lafarge in 2007, Barbagli spent 10 years at broker Gras Savoye, working mainly in Africa. He also was finance/Insurance consultant at IBM Business Consulting and risk manager of Club Méditerranée.
As chief executive, Barbagli will report to global chief underwriting Officer of AXA Corporate Solutions Dr Jürgen Kurth.
Announcing the appointment, Dr Kurth said: “We are delighted to have Laurent Barbagli joining us.
“With over 20 years of experience in our industry and, more particularly, within risk management, we trust that Laurent through his client insight view will further accelerate the development of AXA MATRIX Risk Consultants, matching the expectations of our global customers.”
New CEO Barbagli said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the teams of AXA MATRIX Risk Consultants and I am convinced that both our technical know-how and client-driven approach will be a clear differentiator in the market.”
