A haulage industry pressure group has threatened demonstrations at UK refineries unless the government moves to cut fuel taxes
A confederation of UK road haulage industry groups is threatening demonstrations this weekend at refineries and depots unless British ministers move to cut prices, according to reports.
Members of TransAction 2007, a pressure group, asked Gordon Brown and HM Treasury to consider what the effect of high levels of fuel duty is having, not only on the UK Road Haulage Industry, but also the UK Economy.
Transaction 2007 said on its website that protests ‘at a refinery or storage depot near you’ have been set for Saturday so protesters who would normally be working could attend.
