Marsh has today announced the appointment of David Bramall as head of placement within its national corporate practice.

Bramall will direct Marsh’s placement strategy for the practice which provides risk and insurance services to small and medium-sized (SME) businesses. In addition, he will provide support to Marsh’s regional placement teams across the UK and Ireland.

Bramall, who joined the firm in 2008 and was previously head of casualty placement in the risk management practice, which serves the firm’s multinational clients in the UK, will report to Tim Pritchard, head of placement for Marsh’s corporate business, UK & Ireland.

Pritchard said: “David has an incisive understanding of how insurance can contribute to a client’s competitiveness and brings extensive placement experience to the national corporate practice.

“He will play a pivotal role in steering our regional placement teams to deliver insurance solutions that mitigate the risks facing our corporate and SME clients in the UK and Ireland.”

Bramall said: “Although businesses across the UK and Ireland are beginning to recover from the financial crisis, many are still mindful of the risks they face and are using insurance to protect their balance sheets from debt and losses.

“I look forward to working with our regional placement teams and the insurance market to deliver solutions that contribute to our clients’ success.”
