Two new members join broker’s trade credit division to assist clients in managing credit risks and capitalise on growth

Marsh has appointed two new members to its regional trade credit division in a bid to help businesses prepare for economic recovery.

Lorna Manley has been hired as a development executive. Manley is responsible for leading the development of Marsh’s trade credit business across Northern and the Republic of Ireland. She joins Marsh from Aon’s political risk team in London, where she developed insurance programmes for international clients, exporters and investors in the structured trade, project finance, aviation and oil and gas sectors.

Also joining as a development executive is Rob Farquharson. With over 10 years industry experience, including an underwriting role at trade credit insurer Euler Hermes, Farquharson will focus on growing Marsh’s trade credit business among its client base in the south of England.

The announcement follows the appointments of Sarah Winstone and Rob Bolton as client executives within the trade credit practice’s multinational client team in London.

Both are responsible for managing and maintaining Marsh’s diverse portfolio of multinational trade credit clients.

Tim Fisher, head of trade credit practice at Marsh said: “As economic recovery across the UK and Ireland continues to gather momentum, firms are switching from ‘survival mode’ and are now looking towards the future with renewed confidence.

“However, capitalising on the opportunities presented by this growth is not without risk. Lorna and Rob will play a key role in advising our clients and prospects on how to leverage additional value from trade credit insurance programmes, such as lower borrowing rates, increased funding, improved cash flow and reduced costs.”
