Former ACE man, Brian Duperreault, appointed as president and chief executive officer of MMC

Marsh & McLennan Companies has appointed Brian Duperreault as president and chief executive officer of MMC.

From 1994 to 2004, Duperreault served as chief executive of ACE, the Bermuda-based insurer MMC helped found in 1985. He then served as chairman of the board from 2004 to 2007.

During his tenure at ACE, the company's market capitalization grew from $1.1bn to approximately $19bn today.

Prior to ACE, Duperreault was with AIG for more than 20 years.
