There are two key phrases in risk management and they are 'what if' and 'if only', DVS president Ralf Oelßner told delegates at POLRISK's conference in Warsaw last month.

Oelßner said he found it alarming that tables of top ten risks so often omitted the major risks. His own list of risks that he thought should be among the top ten considered by risk managers included lack of water; lack of food; lack of fuel; lack of natural resources; overpopulation; illegal immigration and other migration issues; environmental pollution; climate change, and terrorism.
