Suit claims Mexican farm was a ‘breeding ground’ for swine flu

The husband of a 33-year-old woman who was the first US resident to die from swine flu has filed a lawsuit against Smithfield Foods, the American owner of the Mexican pig farm where the outbreak started, according to reports.

Judy Trunnell had given birth to a baby girl just a few days before falling ill and eventually dying of the disease.

The petition filed in a US court seeks compensation claiming that the Mexican pig farm was a ‘breeding ground’ for swine flu, said the reports.
