Aon has appointed Mark Parker as head of mining and metals within its global broking centre in London.
Parker will lead a new unit created in the broker’s London property, casualty and crisis management division.
The broker said that by pooling industry talent into a dedicated team, it will be able to provide clients with a service that better responds to complex risks within the mining and metals industry.
Commenting on his new role, Parker said: “Aon has the largest retail network in the world, with market-leading operations in all the main metals and mining regions, including key emerging economies where I have seen our local teams create huge value for our clients through their dedication and skills. I am excited about leading a new team and we plan to make a positive difference for all our clients and also our insurance market partners.”
