Fiscal Reps’ captive practice client director Karen Jenner discusses the theme of the consultancy’s upcoming workshop on international compliance

International flags

Fiscal Reps will today host a workshop looking at global compliance, jointly hosted by David Ketley, regional insurance manager for EMEA and Latin America at Cargill; Karen Jenner, client director in captive practice at Fiscal Reps; Joseph Finbow, client manager in captive practice at Fiscal Reps; and Asher Harris, US consultant at Fiscal Reps.

Ahead of the workshop, Jenner gave us a snapshot of what delegates could expect:

What will your workshop cover?

Looking at the ever-changing landscape of compliance, our case study will highlight areas of key concern to a risk manager including:

• Remaining compliant in all jurisdictions around the world;
• The ongoing risk of writing non-admitted business, particularly on a difference in conditions, difference in limits-basis and for non risks; and
• Government restrictions on exporting reinsurance premiums out of territories to a captive or
reinsurance panel.

What is your tip for best managing these risks?

The key is to involve the use of appropriate specialists to support the risk manager, whether it is the broker, insurer lawyers or tax advisers.

Why should delegates come to your workshop?

We all know that there are often no simple solutions to these concerns, but our workshop hopes to encourage participants to share experiences and knowledge of compliance issues uncovered in our case study encompassing Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and North America.
