A breakfast seminar with the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) in London looked at the business continuity lessons from the fire at the Buncefield oil storage depot on 11 December 2005.
The speakers were Alan Staniforth, head of risk management for Royal Mail and the chairman of AIRMIC's business continuity focus group, and Paul Handy of Charles Taylor Consulting.

Technical director Paul Hopkin will be conducting road shows on information systems for AIRMIC members in Scotland, the north of England and the Midlands on 5, 6 and 7 March.
Risk management consultant DNV is to investigate the benefits of enterprise risk management (ERM) on behalf of AIRMIC. Its aim is to put figures on the gains made by companies that apply ERM. Preliminary findings will be available for the annual conference in June.
