The Hurricane Tracker is intended as an early warning tool for insurers and reinsurers so they can accurately locate the position of a hurricane as it occurs. Ambiental says they can then use its proprietary flood mapping products to link the hurricane information to the location of insured exposures. The company offers a pre-event urban flood risk information system so users can estimate the depth, duration and extent of extreme flooding, while its satellite based damage analysis system allows re/insurers to estimate accumulations of loss directly after a catastrophic event.
