Reelection of Marie-Gemma Dequae as president, Polish and Finnish associations accepted as members

Marie-Gemma Dequae has been re-elected president of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA).

Dequae is group risk and insurance manager of Bekaert, a Belgian multi-national metal transformation and advanced materials and coatings group, and a member of the Belgian risk management association, BELRIM.

She was elected June 13 by the FERMA Executive Board at its meeting in Brussels. The board also chose as FERMA’s two vice-presidents Franck Baron of the Swiss risk management association, SIRM, and Hans Gorrée of the Dutch risk management association, NARIM. Fernand De Winter of BELRIM was elected Treasurer, and Pierre Sonigo from the French association AMRAE remains Secretary General.

Two new associations were accepted as members of FERMA: POLRISK from Poland and the Risk Management Association of Finland (RMAF). This brings to a total of 15 the number of countries whose risk management associations are members of FERMA. The associations have mandated Rafal Rudnicki of POLRISK and Lassi Vaisanen of RMAF to serve as Directors of FERMA.

Other new directors are Stoian Lilov of the Bulgarian association BRIMA and Hans Brandt from Sweden’s SWERMA. Mr Lilov will take responsibility for FERMA’s enlargement activities.

FERMA has also welcomed two Austrian risk managers as individual members, a category open to risk managers in countries where the national association is not a member of FERMA.
